LOOKALIKES : ANDY CARROLL

                                             ANDY CARROLL               JAKE SULLY
                                                                                       FROM AVATAR

It's only recently that I've realised that Andy Carroll bears a startling resemblance to Jake Sully from Avatar.
In fact I should have seen the signs from his Newcastle days!
Take a look at the picture below.

If he carries on performing as badly as he's done so far,
he's gonna turn the rest of Anfield blue too!

BENITEZ- LIVERPOOL'S BEST MANAGER FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS?

Was Rafael Benitez Liverpool's best manager for the last 20 years?
In a word : Yes.

Lets compare his record against the other Liverpool managers from 1990 onwards.
The managers to be included in this comparison are Graeme Souness,Roy Evans and Gerrard Houllier.
Kenny Dalglish will not be included in this comparison as his tenure started in 1985 and ended in 1991.
I will only be including managers whose tenure started and ended from 1990 to 2010.

Graeme Souness

When Graeme Souness took over management of Liverpool FC from Kenny Dalglish in 1991, he was taking over a side that had won in previous seasons, 3 Premier League Titles and 2 FA Cups under Kenny Dalglish. It was a side that featured Ian Rush, John Barnes, Bruce Grobbelaar and Peter Beardsley.
Souness then proceeded to win a grand total of 1 FA Cup.

On the plus side,he did bring through youngsters such as Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler.

Roy Evans
THE SPICE BOYS

Roy Evans took over Liverpool FC in 1994 bringing in the era of the Spice Boys. He won the League Cup in 1995 and finished runners-up in the FA Cup in 1996. He brought through a certain young prodigy called Michael Owen who would later go on to play for Man Utd.
In Roy Evans time at the club Liverpool would go on to finish 3rd,4th and then 3rd in the league.

Gerrard Houllier
TURNING THE CORNER

Gerrard Houllier took over Liverpool FC in 1999 after a disastrous attempt at joint management with Roy Evans. He rebuilt the side with signings such as Sami Hyppia, Stephane Henchoz, Dietmar Hamann and Gary McAllister. This rebuilding bore a successful result when in 2001, Houllier led Liverpool to 6 trophies - FA Cup, UEFA Cup, League Cup, FA Community Shield and the UEFA Super Cup.
He also won the League Cup in 2003.
In October 2001, Houllier suffered a heart attack and was taken to hospital. He returned to management 5 months later. Liverpool under stewardship of caretaker manager Phil Thompson finished 2nd in the Premiership their best ever finish.
Highlights included a memorable comeback win against Arsenal in the FA Cup final with Michael Owen scoring 2 goals, a 5-4 win over Alaves in the UEFA Cup final which needed a golden own goal from Delfi Geli to settle the match and becoming the first manager to win at Old Trafford in 10 years.

Rafael Benitez
CONQUISTADORS OF EUROPE

Rafa Benitez took over in 2005 winning the Champions League in first season at the club after trailing 3-0 at half time to AC Milan. He also finished runners up in the League Cup losing to Chelsea in the final. The next season, he led to Liverpool to the FA Cup glory in an epic final against West Ham coming back from being 2-0 down. The season after he reached the Champions League final only to lose to AC Milan.

Memorable matches include of course THAT final in Istanbul, THAT final against West Ham, a 4-0 trashing of Real Madrid,  a 4-1 mauling of Manchester United at Old Trafford which followed a few days later, a 3-1 over Olympiakos, a record 8-0 win over Besiktas in the Champions League and wins over Juventus,Chelsea and Barcelona.

EUROPE
Benitez made Liverpool a force in Europe once more winning the Champions League in his first season with a team that featured legends such as Djimi Traore, Igor Biscan, Antonio Nunez and Josemi.
This made him only the 3rd manager after Bob Paisley and Jose Mourinho to win the UEFA Cup and the Champions League in successive and the 2nd Liverpool manager since Joe Fagan to win the Champions League in his first season.

LEAGUE
In Rafa Benitez's time Liverpool finished 5th, 3rd,2nd and 7th in the league.
He came within an inch of clinching the Premier League in 2008-2009 season despite suffering only 2 league defeats.

TRANSFER RECORD
Despite what some pundits say, most of his buys were very good.
Bringing in Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano, Luis Garcia, Dirk Kuyt, Daniel Agger and Alvaro Arbeloa is not a record to be sniffed at.

Yes he won less trophies than Gerrard Houllier.
Yes he was stubborn.
Yes that rant about 'facts' was unnecessary.

But the fact is Rafa Benitez was the best manager Liverpool have had for the last 20 years!
So why was he criticised by so many people in the media?
I'll have to cover that in another post.

RYAN BABEL VS SPONGEBOB SQUARE PANTS

Yes, You read that correctly. Former Liverpool player, Ryan Babel threw a party for some kids (not online, but in real life) and hired someone to play the famous cartoon character.
Only the Dutchman himself can tell the tale of what transpired.

" If you invite a character to a kids Bday Party you wanna c that character BE that character "
Ryan Babel

" Spongebob was takin his helmet off & was smoking a cigarette in front of the kids "
Ryan Babel

" Spongebob don't take his face off on tv & a show a black face underneath it "
Ryan Babel

" So i got mad at Spongebob in front of the kids & when i get mad i get loud i get rude "
Ryan Babel

I was like : " Spongebob.. Put your mutha helmet on & put the got damn cigarettes off.."
Ryan Babel

" You can't smoke in front of the kids man are you crazy ? "
Ryan Babel

“Here is the thing that made it bad, nobody told me that spongebob was fresh outta jail"
Ryan Babel

Here is when i find out,he was like : " EYY MAN.. EFF YOU & THESE UGLY ASS KIDS.. I JUST GOT OUT & IM HERE 2 GET PAID..."
Ryan Babel

“I'm such a sissy that when i heard " Jail " my whole attitude changed
Ryan Babel

As soon as i heard jail i said " Noo noo ur not listening, i didn't said u CAN'T smoke i just said don't blow it in their faces "
Ryan Babel

" Thats all im sayin Spongebob i mean blow the smoke up or something smoke.. but just give the kids a chance 2 not have cancer thats it "
Ryan Babel

" I get it you're stressed out man, you just got outta jail i mean pff c'mon i smoke one with ya "
Ryan Babel

#KevinHart - Laugh at my pain !
Ryan Babel

In real life Babel often looked like he could be a world class player but never really made the grade.
When he couldn't make the team, he would moan and groan about it.
When the going got tough, he never looked like he wanted to be there.
I for one am glad Babel is not playing for Liverpool FC anymore.
Can you see a pattern in the conversation above?

LUIS SUAREZ:THE WORLD'S BEST PLAYER?

Is Luis Suarez the best player in the world?
In a word:YES!

Now some of you(Man Utd, Barca fans) may think I'm nuts.
You would say predictably that Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are way better.
In some ways you are right.
However in terms of the big picture, you are dead wrong.
Let me do a comparison between Luis Suarez and Leo Messi who is widely acknowledged as the world's best player so that you can see what I mean.

CLUB
In terms of domestic competition this year, Luis Suarez has scored 4 goals and notched 2 assists in 12 games for Liverpool in the League and also has 3 goals and 3 assists in 3 games in the League Cup.
This means that Suarez gets a goal/assist every 1.25 games.

Now let's compare that to the great Leo Messi.
In 12 games for his club in La Liga, Leo Messi has scored 15 goals and notched 6 assists.
In 5 games in the Champions League, he has scored 6 goals and notched 3 assists.
Excluding, the UEFA Super Cup and the SuperCup, this means that Messi gets a goal/assist every 0.5 of a game which is an astounding record.

This means that Messi is the better player right?
Not exactly...
Keep in mind Suarez is playing has just joined  Liverpool in January this year, a side which has gone through
a lot of personnel changes not including changes in management and ownership.

Secondly, Suarez is not playing for Barcelona.
He is playing for Liverpool FC a side which doesn't really have a great supporting cast around him.
He doesn't have Iniesta, Xavi, Dani Alves, Villa and Pedro creating chances for him.
He has the great Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll and Dirk Kuyt helping him out.
Which players would you rather have as your team mates?

Thirdly,
How long has Messi played for Barcelona? 11 years!
Since 2000, when Barca offered him treatment for his growth hormone deficiency.
How long has Suarez played for Liverpool? 11 months!

Lastly,
The question has to be asked :could Leo Messi go into any team in the world and be as huge a success as he is with Barcelona?
Could he join Liverpool and win the Premier League title, the Champions League and World Club Cup?
That's the mark of a truly great player.
The ability to go into any team and be a success.
That's where the next part comes in...

INTERNATIONAL
Lets look at Messi's stats for Argentina.
He has in his international career 19 goals and 20 assists in 66 games for Argentina which translates to a goal/assists roughly every 1.7 games.
Messi only has the 2008 Olympics Gold Medal to his name.
Argentina with Leo Messi didn't win the 2006, 2010 World Cups and the 2007,2011 Copa Americas.
Argentina was knocked out in the round of 16 in 2010 World Cup and in the quarter finals of 2011 Copa Americas.

If Messi is such a great player why is it that he hasn't been able to translate his form to international level?
You would think that with strike partners such as Tevez, Lavezzi, Sergio Aguero, Higuain linking up with him and midfield maestros such as Pastore, Banega and Di Maria creating chances he would have won a trophy of note by now.

Now lets look at Luis Suarez...
In 43 games for Uruguay, Suarez has 22 goals and 5 assists which means a goal every 1.6 games which is a slightly better record than Leo Messi...
Now lets compare the trophy count.

Luis Suarez and Uruguay achieved 4th place in the 2010 World Cup with Suarez being instrumental.
Uruguay won the 2011 Copa America for the 15th time with Luis Suarez being named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

As you can see Luis Suarez has in his time with the national team achieved a much better record than Leo Messi.

Therefore with all the evidence presented above I will conclude by saying...

Luis Suarez is the best player in the world!
And he plays for Liverpool !
